Many products offer full refunds in the case that you are dissatisfied with the product. These guarantees are very real and can be enforced by the third party payment processor in extreme cases. This is almost never necessary.

Here are a few tips for purchasers:-

Keep a copy of the guarantee and the original publisher's promises. Keep a copy of all correspondence including payment confirmations with transaction ID. Before purchase, understand the process for claiming under a guarantee. Make a note in your calendar of the latest claim date, together with your own notes on what you plan to have accomplished with the product by that date. Having done that, commit to the product with confidence.

If you are genuinely not satisfied with the product by the claim date and you feel that you have been misled, write down exactly where you believe the product has failed and which of the publisher's promises have not been fulfilled - and claim your money back!
